3 - THE PINK MOON

09/04/20

The first full moon of April is named the pink moon by Northern Native Americans because it coincides with the blooming of pretty pink flowers, the moon itself isn't actually pink. The pink moon rose on the 07/04/20 and at around 10pm was at a perfect location to view from my backyard. This was my second attempt to take pictures of the moon. Helped by the fact that the moon was at a lower altitude than the week before, i surprised myself at how quickly i managed to set up and find the moon. The moon was also slightly further away from Earth which, in my opinion helped massively. This is as it was easier to frame within the eyepiece of my telescope and gave me more time to take photos before the moon cruised out the frame. I was over the moon (forgive the pun) with the pictures i managed to take in well under an hour of observing.
